1973 - Enlistment in the United States Marine Corps. Tour of duty included the final three years of the Vietnam conflict. Awards included meritorious promotion to Corporal (E4), Sergeant (E5), and concluded with an Honorable Discharge. Tour of Duty included the Marine Corp’s aircraft wing aboard several Aircraft Carriers in various squadrons including F-4 Phantom Fighters, A4 Attack Aircraft, AH-1J Cobra Attack Helicopters, AH-1G Cobra Attack Helicopters, UH-1E Huey Helicopters, UH-1N Huey Helicopters, CH-53 Helicopters, CH-46 Helicopters, and C-130’s.

USMC Rules of Engagement

1. Be courteous to everyone, look good, and be friendly to no one.
2. Decide to be aggressive enough, quickly enough.
3. Have a plan.
4. Do not attend a gunfight with a handgun whose caliber does not start with a "4."
5. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap.
6. Adjust Speedo.
7. Look very cool in sunglasses.
8. Have a back-up plan.
9. Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
10. Flank your adversary when possible. Protect yours.
11. Always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.
12. In ten years nobody will remember the details of caliber, stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived.
13. Check hair in mirror.
14. Remember, when all else fails, shift the blame, change the rules, redirect the focus of your enemy, spin any media, redefine success, and there won't be any need to try, try, again.
